C.A.M.P. Aerial Spotting School in session

Mendocino county is once again hosting the Campaign Against Marijuana Planting's Aerial Spotting School. There was a KZYX radio news piece about it, you can hear it archived at KMUD. Here's an archived article with comments from last year. Sheriff Tom Allman is taking the course, he says he's the first sheriff here to do so. I was in Ukiah last week and saw the helicopters, this week they're in Laytonville with airplanes and helicopters circling over and over. The sheriff said he understood it to be primarily spotting training, but if they found something big they would initiate some kind of enforcement action. A call to CLMP revealed many people had been complaining about the flyovers, but no enforcement actions were reported. Kudos to sheriff Allman for getting more involved in the process, we need more locals watching the feds to keep them honest.

That's odd? Eric over at Sohum Parlance claims in his most recent post that you don't allow anonymous comments. Either you changed your mind or he's having a bad day at the office. Check it out.
As to CAMP - from a purely economic perspective price levels can only be maintained with bigger dents made in the growing thereof. You know, something like how oil works.
If there were no CAMP,COMET,CUPID, and VIXEN, then the market would be saturated with the stuff and prices would tumble. It'd be a buyer's market. Is that what the idiot growers want?
As to the helicopters and planes buzzing there's enough of that already on the private sector level with all the fatcat flyboys and flying lessons being given around my area for years. They're a bigger pain in the ass because they're around all year long.
Personally,I love seeing those nets heavy with swaying swag!
